The Modern Foreign Languages department at St Edmund’s Catholic Academy in Wolverhampton already knew the impact we could help them make in their department having seen firsthand the transformation we had already completed in their school, and in particular the stairwell graphics in English, RE and Humanities. We love a bit of department envy!
This project had a clear brief to celebrate world languages and inspire MFL students to consider where (and just how far) learning another language could take them. The design of these wall graphics needed a big impact to inspire some big dreams…

The department stairwell is the centrepiece of the installation with a jaw-dropping collage of world culture. Full-colour, high quality images of famous world landmarks and events fill the walls from floor to ceiling. Ingeniously designed graphics of travel tickets inspire possible future career destinations, creating a multi-layered and engaging design that invites a closer look. And for a robust finish, in what is a high-traffic location, this full-coverage wall art is printed full-colour in beautiful detail on our ever-popular Tuffwall wallpaper.
Window graphics and wall art around the rest of the MFL department complement the staircase graphics, carefully designed in the school brand and style we’ve already established. The printed etch window graphic in the stairwell is consistent with feature graphics in other departments, bringing an elegant stained-glass window style befitting of these important religious figures for this school.
