Ark Boulton Academy. A New Year, a Fresh New Look.
This summer we delivered a complete overhaul of the Ark Boulton Academy values branding and worked with the school to design and install brand-new graphics for nearly 50 locations inside and outside of their school building.
By designing so many spaces as part of a single project we were able to ensure that there is much more consistency in everything and the bold use of the school brand colours works really well to create a visual cohesion across the site. This project went further than in previous years and included more faculty-based designs that use teacher-led content, ensuring that they tie in with the curriculum and can be used as teaching walls where relevant. And they look stunning of course!
A major focus for the academy was to ensure that their new values were well-positioned and clear to all stakeholders. We created a range of dedicated designs to showcase and communicate the academy’s values and mission, which were installed at key points within the building to maximise their effectiveness. We brought the new visual language into everything, from staircases to gate signs and everything in between…

The external signs all use the same visual language as the internal displays. At the approach to the main entrance, signs were designed to create a better visitor experience by introducing more cohesive and welcoming messaging, blocking unsightly views, and creating an intuitive flow towards the main doors.
We are incredibly happy with how the project went. The overall effect is stunning. We’re really happy with how the designs have translated in each space. We take a lot of care to ensure that designs are balanced and well-considered, and the right materials are selected so it’s always satisfying when it all comes out as we hoped.

From the initial (slightly panic-stricken) brief meeting with the Principal and Business Manager to them getting final designs approved it was an absolute pleasure to work with them.
