Sidney Stringer kicks school values into overdrive.

After the introduction of two further values to champion within their school, The Media Collective was recruited to liven up empty spaces with a goal to drive home the core values held by the school.

Core values act as the blueprint for the terms of practice within the school environment; serving as the essence of the schools identity.

With the addition of ‘Equality’ and ‘Virtue’, Sidney Stringer were able to develop a new acronym to encapsulate their values: D.R.I.V.E.

This provides a succinct message to empower and motivate staff and students alike, whilst offering a powerful theme which was carried through the halls of the departments.

Above, in the sciences department, a Blueprint Wonderwall™ carrying each one of the values alongside imagery corresponding to different areas of the sciences.

Business and ICT carried through the same Blueprint Wonderwall™ theme, while the English department opted for customised vinyl wall graphics.

In one stairwell, the two new values were added to existing stainless steel branding (also by us) and reformatted to reflect the new acronym.

The power of visuals.

Visuals provoke an overall greater reaction over words. They encourage individuals to engage with the content, and emotional responses affect information retention. This is because visual memory is stored where emotions are processed.

By combining the two, we are able to convey important messages without having to say much at all. We love the decision to use bold colours to differentiate between departments, and carrying the values throughout ensures the message is never lost.
