Working closely with the school leadership team we helped produce a new Sixth Form prospectus that played a key role in the school increasing enrolment of internal Year 12 students.

Overview

The Coleshill School had recently gained Academy status and were looking to widen their intake of post 16 students.

We were approached by the head of post 16 to produce a new prospectus that would help them stand out as a sixth form that offers high-quality courses. It needed to capture the current year 11 cohort but also to attract new students from the local area.

And they needed it in just 3 weeks.

Solution

With very little time to go through the usual iterative approach of submitting ideas and then re-working until approval was met we needed to understand exactly what the school required first time around.

After an initial meeting with the head of Post 16 and a draft Word document we set to work on combining initial concepts with a full first draft proof. We worked hard to organise the content for the 28 page course guide section and created a design and page layout that presented each course with clarity and consistency.

An excellent level of communication was established at an early stage and we were able to work very quickly with the school to present ideas, make suggestions on page order and write new copy. This, combined with their confidence to trust our expertise, ensured that the design, proofing and amendment process of the brochure was as smooth as possible as time-consuming meetings were kept to a minimum.

The final piece, a 58 page perfect bound brochure, was delivered two days early, despite the short lead time. The overall finish was of a very high quality.

Impact

The prospectus was immediately put to work during subsequent open days and student visits. The school were extremely happy with the final solution and their intake for post 16 students saw an overall increase of around 10% during the year that it was used for recruitment, with external student enrolment up by a massive 200% on the previous year.

"The Media Collective were easy to work with and understood our requirements immediately. The work was completed extremely quickly and the team were both professional and full of useful ideas throughout the process. We are delighted with the quality of the end result and it has proved to be an excellent tool that helped recruit new students to our sixth form."
